Sunny's Coney Island

There are not many good restaurants in this area. I have stayed near the airport many times and settled for average food. This time, I was alone and didn't need anything fancy. I had seen Sunny's in the past but never stopped. I decided to give it a shot. I will definitely be back. The food isn't fancy. It's like home cooking. Good sized portions, reasonable prices, and good tasting food. Looking around, I saw many different meals, and they all looked good as well. I would consider this a hidden gem for family food, and I will be back.

I was so looking forward to a Coney island. Normally delicious in mi. I swear this is where they were invented. Running to airport, yeah I know nothing new. Couldn't leave without a Coney. Found on way. Restaurant very clean. Staff friendly. Fryer needed new oil, fried mushrooms, too dark from dirty oil. Lemon soup ok, but too thick, must of been sitting long, too much rice. Coney, chili lacked flavor. I was so disappointed.

We were staying in Romulus before our flight out of Detroit and saw this restaurant as we were driving by. I had a cheeseburger and my wife a Rueben. Both were excellent and with large portions. Wish we had seen it the previous day and our meal the night before was much more expensive and not very good. Our server was also very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend Sunny's if you are in Romulus.

Absolutely enjoyed the Big Breakfast and added a coney because it is part of the name. I had double the food a human should eat and under $9.00. Food was good, service was excellent and place is clean. The reviews are right, eat here and I have to think no matter what it will be good. I will be back when in the area.

Perhaps not to the locals, but only a short distance from the Detroit Airport, from now on,this will be the first place I eat when I fly into Detroit. The place is clean, the food is outstanding, the prices are great, and the service is the best! My server, Tanya, was first-rate, and deserves special mention! Dined there twice in two days while in town on business. I love finding places like this! Highly recommend stopping there for great food before you head into the city!

I have only been here once.. but the food is reasonably priced and the service was great. Yes, I made my eggs into a heart for Valentine's Day! ♡ I would revisit this establishment.

Great place for carry out or dine in. Food is always great! Owners of this small business have high standards for the quality of food, service and cleanliness of restaurant. Great prices too. I've noticed lots of customers come in from local businesses. Quick friendly service!

Sunny is the chef and owner. Delicious breakfast. Chicken fried steak and eggs my Fav. Try sunny omelet with gravy! Make sure you check out Chrstina's awesome socks! Especially at Halloween.

My friend and I ate here before our flight. We have eaten at other Coney Island restaurants as vegans before and had a few options. Unfortunately at this one we were left with fries and salad. Prices were reasonable and portions were large. Restaurant was dated and needed a bit of deep cleaning.

Kind of hole in the wall place near the Detroit Airport. Great portions and good omelets. Staff is super friendly and helpful. If you want a local diner with good simple food, great value and nice staff check this place out.

Great breakfast spot! We intentionally left a bit early one morning, to avoid as much morning rush hour traffic as possible, on our way to the airport. We were hungry and decided to find a breakfast spot in close proximity to the airport. We arrived shortly after the restaurant opened and were greeted by a very pleasant waitress who seated us. I have passed by Sunny's Coney Island a few hundred times and on each pass-by, I think to myself, I must stop here one day. Well, today was the day and I'm glad I did. A long time buddy of mine and I often go to breakfast so I chose Sunny's. The coffee was a medium roast with a good aroma and flavor. My only concern, was no Splenda (yellow) but they had both pink and blue. Our waitress often visited our table to make sure we had everything and to keep our coffee cups full. First place I go to after getting out of airport.Always good portions and prices, I like their spaghetti sauce better than olive gardens I know thats not saying much, but it does have flavor. 21 shrimp basket is as good as most seafood places. Great food all around
